First drawings in Art 2
This was the very first thing I drew in art two. I love nature photography and its pretty cool when i can institute things from my pictures into my artwork. Overall I liked the way this drawing turned out and i think it demonstrated where my artistic abilities stood in the beginning of the year. I hope as the year progresses i am able to better my skills in drawing nature.
This drawing was actually difficult for me and looking back i already see some things i could change to make it better. Personally I do not enjoy drawing animals so i think this art piece really pushed me to draw something i usually wouldn't create,. Overall i don't think i did a horrible job although i would like to learn how to better draw animals in the future.
When Mrs. Rossi told me to draw a point perspective drawing my mind thought of looking out the window of a house. Although i don't think its my best work I do like the overall creativity. In my eyes everything looks a little crooked and I hope next time i draw something like this I am able to correct that. Overall I enjoyed making this piece although i hope I'm able to draw it better next time.
Still life drawings
I remember walking into class one day to find a group of shapes on the table. When i looked at the shapes i saw how complicated the shading and shadowing were and then of course i had to then draw all that complicated shading and shadows. Overall i learned how take whats in front of you and draw it onto paper.
This is the same thing above just in colored pencil.
These quick 5 minute sketches were fun. It was sorta hard because i usually take my time drawing. Overall i learned how to draw fast but effective.
This is what i finished of my still life. I honestly cant say i liked the way it turned out and i wish i finished it and spent more time on it. Its really hard for me to get precise details on drawings because i have essential tremors and my hands shake. I feel like this piece did however help me learn how to better control my pencil while drawing.
This is a sphere that i drew completely out of pen dots. It took a long time and I learned to not rush when you are making art out of tiny dots. Personally I found this sphere hard to draw because i have essential tremors in my hands and drawing dots for a long time can get difficult. Overall though, i like the way this piece turned out and i'm glad i spent so much time creating it.
This is another shape i drew from pen. The way i drew this shape is unique because the shape looks different depending on what angle you look at it from. In the end I think it turned out pretty well and overall i learned how to better draw shapes using hatching,
This is my 100 pen texture/design art piece. This piece demonstrates how many different textures you can draw with a pen. It took a long time to make and i had to get creative in the next pattern i drew. Sometimes i would start by drawing something random and then i would turn it into a pattern. Overall i learned how to draw different textures and designs that i can incorporate into my artwork.
I like this piece a lot. I feel like it really shows you how texture can truly make your artwork pop out. It was fairly easy to draw but yet it shows so much design and texture.
This is the farthest i went with my pen unit. I took everything i learned about texture and design and put it in this piece. You can truly see how much stuff is in the piece and as you look around you notice how many different designs there are. I Overall really enjoyed drawing with pen.
This was the first thing i ever drew with prisma colors and after drawing this i was in love with prisma. I really enjoyed experimenting with color and blending . In the end i was able to make artwork that pops out and looks realistic.
First off i am very proud of this piece. I drew this using prisma and i love the way it turned out. The different values of red i got by blending and layering is what really makes this piece pop out. When i first started drawing this pepper i remember having no idea how to blend and layer the colors. I kinda learned as i went and in the end i was able to draw something that looks realistic. Overall this piece taught me how to control color and value with prismas.
One thing i learned that i hate in art is water color. This is my failed first attempted at water color. Overall i want to get better at watercolor although i personally think i'm never going to like it.
Right after my failed attempt of art ↑ I said screw it and jumped right into making my pepper. Honestly i don't think it turned out horrible but i definitely need to improve my watercolor skills. It was really hard to get the colors and shading to blend and show up correctly. But overall I tried my best and I'm proud of the end result.
These are sketches I made for the printing project. It shows St. Basil's cathedral which i drew in 5 different ways. Overall i liked the way these sketches turned out and i think it shows the importance of practicing before you make your final.
Original rough draft sketch of clay pineapple drink. In the end i think it accurately represents how my pineapple turned out.
The pineapple i made out of clay was a long process. It started with slipping and scoring triangles onto the pineapple shaped body.
This is what my pineapple looked like after it was fired in the kilm. After adding each individual triangle i spent a lot of time carving each leaf and adding texture. Although this took a long time i think it overall made the pineapple look more realistic.
This is the final product of my clay pineapple. This project took a long time and i'm really proud of the way it turned out. I put a lot of detail into this clay project and in the end I was able to create something that is unique and realistic.
I realized I didn't finish my value chart in class so i ended up quickly making something at home. After half an hour of searching my house for certain colors of acrylic paint i finally found some in my sisters room. This definitely isn't my best work but im glad i was able to make it up.
With the acrylic paints i found in my sisters room i was able to do my color wheel as well. Its nothing special but it demonstrates how to display a the different colors.
